Dalston Architecture Collective (DAC) group work is on Istagram
Dalston Architecture Collective A group of architectural practices across Bootstrap have come together to share knowledge, ideas and experience, and created the Dalston Architecture Collective (DAC). It is a forum for mutual exchange, that meets every week to support each other collectively – especially now while working remotely. This has taken the form of weekly CPD’s, staff sharing, LFA events, and ongoing inter-business support. They have formed joint bids, joint responses to Part L, and a joint masterplan for Dalston Quarter. These approaches have allowed them to adapt, especially in this new world of Covid-19. As its most recent project, the collective is offering 45 minute online consultations with potential clients. The unique collaborative approach of the group means that we they are offering these meetings with two practices. The process is to collect information via a custom questionnaire, then have a video call with two separate practices, and then supply a sketch. This gives a collaborative approach, which also draws in engineers, fabricators, and architects from the group. This provides the client with a one-stop shop, in order to clarify ideas, and give certainty over an approach. Their approach gives efficiency and through the collaborative which also de-risks the process. DAC's collaborative approach gives efficiency and helps de-risk the design process - together they offer an extensive variety of experience and a broad range of knowledge across all sectors.
